Nuchi Du Takara imagine for a moment you've been born into a world in which your grandparents and your parents have been fighting for their freedoms everyday. Imagine that world has 32 foreign military bases from which all manner of rape and murder are committed upon your peers, often with impunity. Imagine that from these bases dangerous aircraft are flown at all hours of the day and night, sometimes crashing, other times dropping parts accidentally into school playgrounds. Would you think of these bases as friendly protectors or unwanted intruders? This is daily life on Okinawa

CIVIL.i.AM is a collection of stories and anecdotes inspired by my service in the USMC. The guest features on this album are former service members as well, Guy Ron Solero Vanterpool (US Army) and AtLas (US Air Force), respectively. All proceeds from sales of this album are being donated to www.veteransforpeace.org a non profit with a mission of educating people on the real costs of war.
