The 1st Annual Power to Peace Festival will bring together seven artists of various genres, one Chicago's own DJ Dapper on the 1's and 2's and an all female military veterans poetry cipher, all for a night of peace, unity and having fun.

 A picture is worth a thousand words, or so the saying goes. What an understatement. The picture above of Huey Newton serving breakfast to the youth and the care with which this father is holding and feeding his son exemplifies the highest ideals a man can uphold; raising and protecting his family. This Sunday I am both being honored at and performing at this incredible event. I grateful for being recognized and inspired to continue learning and growing as a father. In my attempts to capture the meaning and responsibility of what being a father entails in my eyes, I am planning to share these two songs this Sunday: "What Up Real Life" and "CIVILiAM"
